• Cardiologists – Are medical doctors and must complete approximately 11 years of training, which include four years of undergraduate education, four years of medical school and a three-year cardiology fellowship. There are two primary types of cardiologists, invasive and non-invasive. Invasive cardiology involves inserting instruments into the body such as catheters, stents and balloons. Non-invasive cardiology involves using techniques like nuclear imaging to diagnose heart conditions. Non-invasive cardiologists may prescribe heart medication or make diet and lifestyle recommendations to patients. Both types of cardiologists receive lucrative salaries.
Treatment
- Medicine is given if a blood clot occurs or if required, surgery.
