- The LangerHans cell- is the immune cell of the skin. they are in every layer of the epidermis and around blood vessels of the dermis as well as the mucosa of the mouth and foreskin.
- Keratinocytes – Most abundant cell type. Produce keratin, a tough, fibrous protein. Cells are held together by desmosomes.
